Team games
In a team game, two or more teams play against each other. Teammates help each other, and the whole team wins when every other team is out.
Make teams
The host turns on Teams in the room's rules, and then puts the players into teams. You need at least two teams, and every player must be in a team. The teams cannot change after the game starts. Bots can play in teams too.
The teams take turns: after each turn, a player from another team plays. Two teammates play one after the other only when their team has more players than all the other teams together. Random order still shuffles the players.
The Team size rule sets the most players one team can have. A full team takes no more players, and the game cannot start while a team has too many.
Fair teams
Each purse starts with the cash that its members would have had on their own. When teams have different sizes, the Fair teams rule gives smaller teams more, so that every purse starts the same. It is on by default. For example, with $1,500 and teams of three and two, both purses start with $4,500. Without the rule, the team of two starts with $3,000.
When a teammate leaves
If a teammate leaves or is removed, the team keeps everything: the purse, the properties, the buildings and the cards. A team goes bankrupt only as a whole: if its purse cannot pay its debts, every member goes out, and the team's properties go back to the bank to pay what they can.
Trades
Teams trade with other teams, never inside the team, because the team already owns everything together. A trade can hold anything either team owns. Any member can accept, decline or counter an offer to the team, and withdraw an offer that the team made.
Votes in a team game
To remove a player by vote, more than half of the human players must vote, and if that player has a human teammate, one of their teammates must vote too. So a team cannot remove a player only because the player is on the other team.
Team tips
- Count the team's cities, not your own. Two half countries in your team are often one trade away from a full country.
- Choose who builds. Money is strongest when the team puts it into one country at a time, up to three houses on each city.
- Talk in the chat. Your opponents can read it too, so keep the details of your plan short.
